What is the Certification Process?

Passing an (ISC)² exam is only the first step in earning your certification.

After you pass your exam, you’ll receive an email with your official results so you can begin the endorsement process and confirm you have the necessary work experience to become fully certified. The application must be endorsed and digitally signed by an (ISC)² certified professional. If you do not know an (ISC)² certified professional in good standing, (ISC)² can act as endorser for you.

Next, all (ISC)² members are required to commit to and fully support the (ISC)² Code of Ethics:

  • Protect society, the common good, necessary public trust and confidence, and the infrastructure.
  • Act honorably, honestly, justly, responsibly, and legally.
  • Provide diligent and competent service to principles.
  • Advance and protect the profession.

Finally, you will be notified via email that you can pay your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) to begin your membership cycle.

To maintain your certification, you will be required to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. We make it easy for you earn CPE credits and grow professionally through a wide array CPE opportunities.
